We do not yield the modern trend to teach Martial Art as a simple sport without any commitment to their traditions; in the opposite, we seek rescue numerous concepts of this Senda ancient and especially the idea of a spirituality way for interior illumination (satori).

On the technical side, we try to offer a complete methodology also giving close attention to modern ground training which has been enhanced in Brazil (BJJ), but without losing the emphasis on self defense, fighting no-gi, falls and other foundations.

The Dárcio Lira Jiu Jitsu brings the PIONEER differential have followed the technical evolution of ground fighting that took place in Brazil, but without ever having cut the connection to the traditional philosophical aspects of the East; different from what happened, it can be said in general, with ALL Jiu Jitsu academies of Brazil, especially the BJJ.

We have an traditional dojo in fredericksburg, with operation all days in the week, for men, women and children. We also have a second location in Washington DC, located inside the Mind Your Body Oasis Yoga Studio in the Crystal City, neighborhood right outside downtown DC.
