Darlington High School (DHS) was established in 1994, when the populations from two existing high schools, St. John’s and Mayo, were combined. Mayo became a county-wide magnet school, Mayo High School for Math, Science and Technology, at the former Mayo campus. Darlington High School assumed the campus of the former St. John’s High School including Spring Elementary School, which was transformed into the Ninth Grade Academy and houses all first-time ninth graders. DHS currently has 1220 students
