Davenport Junior Theatre

We believe every child deserves to communicate with clarity, confidence and creativity. Founded 1951, Davenport Junior Theatre is the second oldest children's theatre in America. Junior Theatre is committed to the mission of "theatre for kids, by kids." We offer an array of programming opportunities for children ages 3 - 18. Featuring the area's best local teachers, DJT offers classes in all aspects of the theatre. We also have the DJT School of Dance and our Spectrum Theatre for youth with autism. The Mainstage Acting Company produces 3-4 shows annually and is filled out by our most talented students. Junior Theatre also offers an array of week-long camps and workshop series.
