Amanda and Adrian are the Directors of the DC Casineros Dance Company, a DC Based Non-Profit organization whose mission is to build communities through the art and culture of Cuban dance.
DC Casineros specializes in performing complex, flavorful and energetic choreographies based on Cuban Popular dances such as Casino, Son, Rumba, Comparsa and at times Afrocuban Dance, while using and promoting the most current urban musical sounds from the Island.
DC Casineros also teaches Casino and rueda de Casino classes based on the most current methodology of Cuban dance, which emphasizes technique, elegance, musicality and body isolations, while using dynamic moves and interactive exercises.
DC Casineros have performed and taught locally, nationally and internationally, at prestigious and popular venues, conferences, and congresses including the Kennedy Center, Smithsonian, DC Salsa Congress: San Francisco, New York, Miami and Atlanta Rueda Congresses, Nicaragua Salsa Congress, and Benin Salsa Congress in West Africa. MTV 3 Latino recently featured Adrian and Amanda to talk about Casino as a Cuban Popular dance in the DC area.
