Deaf Ministry Coosada Baptist Church

The Deaf Ministry of Coosada Baptist Church was started in 2007 by Interpreter for the Deaf, Johnny Baker who passed away in 2016.
This ministry provides a place for Deaf in our community to worship and fellowship. An interpreter is provided during the 9:40 Sunday morning worship service. Sunday School and Wednesday night Bible Study class are taught by members of the Deaf Ministry. Members of the CBC Deaf Ministry attend concerts, conferences and special services with Deaf speakers as well as participating in CBC activities like "Trunk or Treat", nobody spins cotton candy better, the Big Give and holiday programs.

In 2013, Johnny taught a sign language class at Coosada Baptist and from that class, the sign group Hands of Praise was formed. Members of Hands of Praise sign music and services at Coosada Baptist functions. Hands of Praise also shares music through sign language at other area churches.
