Rev Don E Dumas, Pastor of Deans Chapel Baptist Church
is also the President of The Oklahoma State Congress of Christian Education.
Deans Chapel supports education and that is evident in our children that we
provided monetary scholarships for, in the name of the Alveretta and James C Sourie Scholorship.
DCBC also leads them to participate in the Collate District, State and National Congress.
We lead by example and we teach that ones desire will determine their distance.
We desire to be like the Lord.
Our process for implementing the purpose of God is that
We Bring people in, Build them up, Train them, and Send them out.
Deans Chapel was the fourth Black Church established in Muskogee, when their was a need for a church
and school on the southside. Mrs. Lula Robinson began to help to organize a church and school.
After meeting in a workshop provided by Mr Elias Dean the church grew and a bigger building was needed.
Mr. Elias Dean gave the church a parcel of land on South Lincoln and 10th. The church was named in honor of
Mr Dean because of his genourous contribution. The original Church was near a railroad and due to train disturbances it
relocated but stayed in the Deans Addition of Muskogee at 20/Maryland!
