In 1981, Dearborn entrepreneur and philanthropist Mike Adray was recognized for his contributions when the Ford Woods Ice Arena was officially renamed the Mike Adray Sports Arena. Adray made many generous contributions to the City of Dearborn, such as sponsoring youth athletic teams. In 1996, Dearborn saw the opening of the new ice arena at Ford Woods, the Kilpatrick Arena, named after William Kilpatrick, longtime recreation director and school athletic director. This new ice arena and the existing Adray Arena make up the Dearborn Ice Skating Center (DISC).

The DISC features:

Two NHL regulation ice surfaces
4,000 square-foot lobby and main entrance
An upper-level viewing and banquet room for 200
seating in the main arena for 1,500
2 upper-level private party rooms
8 team rooms
3 officials' rooms
1,000 square-foot Pro Shop
Food Concessions

The DISC is owned and operated by the Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department which is a department of the City of Dearborn, www.cityofdearborn.org. This page is for general public information only. The DISC’s full-service Pro Shop, under new management, features hockey equipment and accessories, figure skating accessories, team apparel, high school varsity jackets, skate sharpening and skate sales and repairs. The Pro Shop is open Monday through Friday from 5-10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. For further information, call (313) 943-4098.
