Dehya, pronounced day-yah, is a word used in Jamaican patois. In Jamaican culture if someone asks how you are, “Dehya” is often the response. Dehya simply means I am here.
Syntyché Francella, Dehya’s founder, is of Jamaican heritage. As an adult she reflected and learned how powerful “dehya” really is. Syntyché has a deep understanding of the present moment and the power of intention. Growing up in a culturally and spiritually rich home reinforced these principles.
Our yoga practice and yogic principles, are about being intentionally present and “here” in the moment of now. Your mat. Your place. Your practice. Dehya Yoga Studios is a budding wellness center that seeks to help students through the practice of yoga, Pilates, Reiki, talk therapy, EFT, and various healing modalities reach a sense of balance; thereby creating peace and transformation within.
DYS has an extensive catalogue of yogis, Reiki practitioners, make-up artists, hair stylists, massage therapists and psychotherapists that are available and willing work to support all our students.
