Del Rey is located 3.5mi south-southwest of Sanger, at an elevation of 344 .GeographyAccording to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.2sqmi, all of it land.HistoryOriginally called Clifton, the place was renamed by the railroad in 1898 to Del Rey, after the Rancho del Rey ranch on which the station was located. Del Rey is a Spanish phrase meaning "of the king". A post office opened in 1885.
