Delano Homestead Bed & Breakfast

The Delano Homestead Bed and Breakfast, built in 1832 by one of New England's most prominent families, is a fine example of transitional/ late Federal / Greek Revival architecture. Located in historic Fairhaven, Massachusetts, the Bed and Breakfast is situated on a quiet, residential street in the heart of the village center, close to the town hall, library, beach, parks, bicycle path, museums, maritime academy, shops, restaurants, and working waterfront.

The 10-room, 3,800 square foot Bed and Breakfast, complete with conservatory and green house, framed by stone walls and wrought iron gates, was once the residence of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's mother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. It was FDR's summer and holiday residence into his adult years and was visited by him and Eleanor, even as president and first lady.

The Delano Homestead Bed and Breakfast's Facilities accomodate short-term guests, longer-term guests, and can be rented as a corporate residence and for special events. It has three rooms to choose from.

Fairhaven is located in an area called the South Coast of Massachusetts. It is located about half-way between Providence RI and Cape Cod. This location is a great jumping off point for daily excursions to: Providence (30 mins); Cape Cod (20 mins); Boston (60 mins); Martha's Vineyard (60 mins via Ferry); Newport, RI (40 mins). This region offers world-class beaches, fishing, antiquing, boating, seafood, whale watching, antiquing, wineries and bird watching. If culture is your fair, check out the New Bedford Whaling Museum, Newport Mansion Tours, Plimouth Plantation; and the Zeiterion Theater.

The Delano Homestead Bed and Breakfast is open year-round. Prices range from $140-$160/night depending on season (inclusive of breakfast).
