Delavan

Delavan started out in 1935 as a small trailer repair shop in Buffalo, NY. We repaired car-haulers and manufactured bomb racks during World War II. As the production of vehicles in Detroit began to increase, repair shop owner Lempke decided to begin producing his own car-haulers and in 1946 Delavan was born.

In 1998, Delavan and LOHR Industrie, S.A. out of France joined in a partnership to promote our trailers throughout North America. “We have entered into a joint venture agreement with [Delavan] to cover the world. What we are bringing to the equation is that, once we have developed the resources for engineering we will bring our knowledge of all the car carrier markets around the world,” Eric Belton of LOHR Industrie, S.A. stated to Automotive Logistics in 2014. “We will also bring our manufacturing capabilities, as we have several factories globally, and a good knowledge of the global customer base.”

Since the venture between Delavan and LOHR, we have moved to Newnan, GA just outside of Atlanta. Currently, we manufacture several signature models including the 2878GS and 4000. We have also released our new EVO75 series, which can be viewed on our Facebook page.
