Delaware Systema

We are proud to be the first and only Systema group certified under Vladimir Vasiliev to teach Systema in Delaware.

The Systema we train and study was founded by two men, Vladimir Vasiliev and Mikhail Ryabko. Our first teacher was Andre Baarsma. Andre taught Systema from 2002-2011 and is credited with introducing Systema to Delaware. He decided to leave in early 2011 and asked his longest tenured student, Kevin Huke, to take over teaching duties.

Delaware Systema prides itself on having a friendly and open environment for learning Systema. No egos allowed. We currently have students in class consisting of civilians and law enforcement. Some have previous martial arts experiences and some come to Systema with none. We welcome that diversity.

Class sizes can change on any given day. You might find yourself in a class with eight other students or in a class with one other student. Our classes are very informal and open to anyone who would like to explore this Russian Martial Art.
