Deliverance Crusaders Center

Deliverance Crusaders Center (DC), founded by Apostle Arnell and the late Mother JimElla Smith, has served thousands of people over the years throughout Northern Illinois since 1972. We held our first service in the Community Center at Champion Park.

Our anointed five-fold ministry focuses on the outcast by developing them into leaders. We use the streets as our training ground...working with prostitutes, gang members, homosexuals, lesbians, drug addicts, alcoholics, and the abused...by bringing them to a place where God's deliverance can set them free...FOREVER!! A place where signs and wonders follow all believers...demons are cast out and the sick is healed!! A place where the Holy Ghost empowers and equips you through the Word of God to become a Crusader for Christ...combatting poverty, urban blight, and various social problems.

DC has given birth to several ministries and ministers throughout the country including Deliverance Crusaders of Racine (Wisconsin), Apostle Mark Williams (who presides over the powerful Banner of Truth International), Washington Park Christian Church (Pastors Jesse and Mary Allen), Street Corner Deliverance Church (Pastor Jewell Shores and the late Pastor Charles Shores), to name just a few.

DC's history in Rockford has been rich, productive, anointed and life changing. We have enjoyed numerous partnerships throughout Rockford, including the Rockford Police Department, Mayor Lawrence J. Morrissey, State Senator Dave Syverson, State Representative Chuck Jefferson, Winnebago County Chairman Scott Christiansen, Winnebago County Justice Center, Salvation Army, Rockford Housing Authority, Martin House, Catholic Dioceses, MELD, Rockford Rescue Mission, Holy Redeemer Compassion Capital Initiative (President George W. Bush's Faith Based Initiative - Milwaukee), The Mill, Youth For Christ, Booker Washington Community Center, Cease Fire and numerous churches of all denominations. For more than 30 years, Deliverance Crusaders Center has held successful gang summits and worked tirelessly to shut down drug houses and clean up Concord Commons, Champion Park and Fairgrounds Park Housing Complexes from the onslaught of gang violence and drugs.

The following is a highlight and brief summary of a few ministries that started from our efforts:

Magdalene: This ministry single handedly and effectively cleaned up prostitution from South Main Street, through the efforts of Jean "Mama Jean" Flores. Mama Jean created and became the Director of Magdalene, a program that ministered to prostitutes. This nationally recognized and award winning ministry was housed at the Martin House, under the assistance of the Catholic Diocese and Father Collins. Mama Jean has appeared on the Phil Donohue Show and written a best selling book.

Let's Talk It Out (LTO): Founded by Mother Estella Benford, who eventually turned this ministry over to Ralph Hawthorne. Minister Hawthorne was able to take this ministry to another level by helping at risk youth and gang members.

In June of 2011, Apostle Smith through the leading of the Holy Ghost, anointed and placed Minister Robert Madison and his daughter Traci Madison, as Pastors of the ministry. In December of 2012...exactly 40 years later...God blessed Pastor Madison and the DC family to purchase a beautiful new brick building, which is located at 2101 Auburn Street!! Now God is taking us to another level in ministry!! For the prophetic Word of the Lord for us in 2013 is...BREAKOUT!!
