The Indiana Chapter of Delta Upsilon Fraternity was chartered on December 11, 1915 as the 11th national social fraternity on the IU campus. Its forerunner organization, the Wrangler Society, was founded in 1902 and named after a similar organization that was famous at Oxford and Cambridge universities. The name "Wrangler" is commemorated today in the name of the charitable organization that receives and manages tax-deductible contributions benefiting the Indiana Chapter members and is the name of the chapter newsletter.
The Indiana Chapter moved to its current location at 1200 East Third Street in 1926.
