DeSales Service Works

Being a city with a lot of negativity, violence and need, the Oblates are here to join with this community in working to make the gospel effective for this city. The work of DSW helps to embody the Oblates' effort in this, and help combat the negativity surrounding Camden. The Salesian spirituality that the Oblates espouse brings a valuable gift to the good work here.

DSW is made up of three programs: A service retreat program, a summer internship and a Year-long volunteer program.

The retreat program accepts school, college, and parish groups, as well as anyone else- young or old- who want to help serve and share the gospel in Camden.

The summer internship accepts 18+ year olds. It is a three week program in the summer for those who want a deeper experience than our retreat program, but cannot commit to a year of service.

The year-long volunteer accepts 21+ year-olds, typically recent college grads, who live in an intentional community and work at various site placement for 12 months.
