Desert Rivers Community Church

Desert Rivers Community Church meets Saturday evenings at 5:15 pm for dinner and 6:00 pm for our service. Grace Covenant Church has graciously agreed to allow us to meet in their building during the launch of this new ministry!

Desert Rivers Community Church has been formed after a year of careful planning by Chris Watkins, Dawson Hunt, Dustin Hunt, Jimmie Doss, and most recently, Brian Clayburgh. We are striving to create a church and community of believers that is relevant to our culture and helps people grow closer to God with a deeper understanding of the Gospel.

Desert Rivers Community Church has been in existence since February of 2013. We are a local church plant here in Las Cruces, NM that has the vision and drive to connect people to Christ and community. We have seen the Lord do many great things in our midst as a result of this pursuit and we hope that you’ll consider joining us on this adventure! We currently meet inside of Grace Covenant Church at 3111 N. Main. We are renting this space on Saturday evenings until we are able to make the move to our own location. We offer a free dinner each Saturday before the service, as well as childcare for babies-6th graders. We also have 4-5 small groups that meet at various times of the week and locations around town. Church planting isn’t for everyone, and there are many difficulties to overcome. However, we believe that we need to see new churches rise up to fulfill the Great Commission both locally and globally. That’s why we want to be a church on mission to someday plant other churches. To do this we need the Lord’s leading, support and growth. It’s our prayer that God would choose to use us as a river in the desert to birth a new working of the gospel in Las Cruces and around the world.
