Desi Zaiqa

Desi [d̪eːsi] or Deshi [d̪e(ː)ʃi] refers to the people, cultures, and products of the Indian subcontinent and, increasingly, to the people, cultures, and products of their diaspora. Desi countries include India,Bangladesh and Pakistan. There are large desi populations in (e.g.) the UK, US, Canada, and other western countries as well.Zaiqa [zai: ka] means flavor or taste. Hence our restaurant is named Desi Zaiqa to reflect the fusion of Pakistani / Indian / Bangladeshi cusine and how these cultures and cusines meet to create a “fusion” culture, in which foods, fashion and music “fuse” with elements from all other cultures in USA.
