Desoto Environmental Learning Lab & Outdoor Classroom

The Environmental Learning Lab and Outdoor Classroom is a part of of the School District of DeSoto County. The main role of the facility is to educate students of DeSoto County. There is a featured field trip for each grade level to the ELL that will provide opportunities to learn about animals, plants, local history, and much more. The Environmental Learning Lab (ELL) is home to a display of Florida's Native Wildlife, including, a bobcat, a coyote, an alligator, and much more. The ELL also has 2 miles of trails winding through 45 acres of natural Florida land and boasts 3 boardwalks through the swamps. We are open to the public Mon-Fri 8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. If the front gates are open feel free to stop by for a visit. The staff and animals here at the ELL love to see visitors!
