In 1994 the business outgrew its home and a new facility was built to accommodate future growth. The 12-acre Dick Lavy Trucking complex boasts an office building, fuel island, plenty of paved parking plus a five bay shop. While the operation has grown mightily, Dick Lavy Trucking still fosters a family atmosphere. Although the company is an around the clock seven days a week operation, the drivers have most weekends home, with our out of state drivers averaging every other weekend. Family is important here and we guarantee all employees home for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Many of our drivers have been with Dick Lavy for a long time. We recognize everybody and talk to them on a first name basis. Here at Dick Lavy Trucking we strive to treat our drivers as family, never as a number. Our company can offer everything the “big boys” in the business have, but we try to be more personal. Benefits such as 98% no touch freight, sign-on bonus, referral bonus, paid holidays and vacations, direct deposit, paid loaded/empty miles, layover, detention, stop-off pay, health, life, dental, short term disability insurance, 401K and great home time all add to a driver friendly atmosphere. Drivers are consistently averaging between 2500 to 2700 miles per week.

Safety is also a main concern for us. Drivers attend quarterly safety meetings where they receive the latest updates on new or upcoming DOT regulations. Every July, the company hosts a truck rodeo where the drivers have an opportunity to practice everything they have learned during their driving career. The annual event is not only challenging, but has proven to be a lot of fun for participants. Families are invited and there is food and activities for the kids, and prizes for all.

Here at Dick Lavy Trucking we strive to give our customers personal and consistent service. It is easy for a company to say they will go out of their way to please a customer and satisfy employees, but we put actions behind our words. We have an ever growing customer base that relies on the ability to get shipments to them safely and in a timely manner. Our scope of operations currently covers an area which includes the Midwest, East and Southeast areas. We hold 48 State Contract Carrier Authority, which enables us to offer contracts with set rates to our customers. In order for the freight to arrive on time and safe, an experienced crew of administrative, maintenance personnel, along with drivers all work as a team to make Dick Lavy Trucking one of the most well respected trucking firms in the business. Our administrative and office team bring over 200 years worth of experience and knowledge. Our maintenance department has extensive experience and knowledge working on the trucks. All units in the fleet are 4 years and newer.
