Dickson City Police Department

The department consists of 1 Chief, 8 full-time officers and 16 part-time officers. Dickson City's fleet consists of 2 Dodge Chargers, 1 Chevrolet Caprice, 5 Chevrolet Tahoes and 1 Dodge Durango.

The borough of Dickson City is unique in that it offers not only residential challenges but commercial challenges as well. The borough takes up 4.8 square miles of Lackawanna County and hosts a population of approximately 6,000 people; however the number of people within the borough greatly increases due to the amount of retail traffic on a daily basis.

Dickson City boasts 4 public parks and a civic center. The borough is also home to Wal-Mart, Viewmont Mall, Sheetz, Great Escape IMAX Theater, Kohl's, Target, Home Depot, Lowe's, K Mart, Wegmans, Giant Food Store, Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Books A Million. The borough also offers locally owned businesses such as Katrina's, Roseanna's, Main Line Hoagie, Shorten Homes, and Carvel. All of these businesses are just half of what the borough offers.
