What We Believe

THE WORD

We Believe….The Holy Bible is the infallible (truth) word of God!

2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,”


GOD

We Believe….In the one and only living God, whom reveals himself in three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) the God-head.


John 10:30 “I and the Father are one.”

Philippians 2:5-7 “5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.”


SALVATION

We Believe…That Humanity can only be one with the Father and Saved from eternal damnation by confessing Jesus Christ as Lord.

Romans 10:9-10 “Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.”


THE HOLY GHOST

We Believe…in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the promised gift of God sent by Jesus to empower us to do the work of the ministry and assist us in living out the word of God as we walk with Jesus on our journey to eternal life. We believe that every believer needs to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost, the evidence of that baptism will be the speaking of unknown tongues. Every believer has a measure of the Holy Spirit, that measure is what drew them to salvation in Jesus Christ, but the baptism of the Holy Ghost is a different experience according to Acts 2. You are saved by the blood of Jesus, you are empowered by the Holy Ghost Acts 1:8.

Matthew 3:11 “I indeed baptize you in (with) water because of repentance [that is, because of your changing your minds for the better, heartily amending your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins]. But He who is coming after me is mightier than I, Whose sandals I am not worthy or fit to take off or carry; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.”

Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”


Acts 1:8 "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."



BAPTISM BY WATER

We Believe…in Baptism of Water, which was demonstrated by Jesus as the way of public confession of faith and personal identity in his death, burial, and resurrection.

Matthew 28:19 “Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be).”


SECOND COMING OF THE CHRIST

We Believe…in the return of Jesus the Christ as prophesied in Holy Scripture. He will return to gather all those who belong to God through him.

Hebrews 9:28 “Even so it is that Christ, having been offered to take upon Himself and bear as a burden the sins of many once and once for all, will appear a second time, not to carry any burden of sin nor to deal with sin, but to bring to full salvation those who are [eagerly, constantly, and patiently] waiting for and expecting Him.”


SPIRITUAL GIFTS

We Believe…In spiritual gifts that are fueled by the power of the Holy Ghost for the edification of God’s Kingdom.

1 Corinthians 12: 4-11 "Now there are distinctive varieties and distributions of endowments (gifts, extraordinary powers distinguishing certain Christians, due to the power of divine grace operating in their souls by the Holy Spirit) and they vary, but the [Holy] Spirit remains the same. And there are distinctive varieties of service and ministration, but it is the same Lord [Who is served]. And there are distinctive varieties of operation [of working to accomplish things], but it is the same God Who inspires and energizes them all in all. But to each one is given the manifestation of the [Holy] Spirit [the evidence, the spiritual illumination of the Spirit] for good and profit. To one is given in and through the [Holy] Spirit [the power to speak] a message of wisdom, and to another [the power to express] a word of knowledge and understanding according to the same [Holy] Spirit; To another [wonder-working] faith by the same [Holy] Spirit, to another the extraordinary powers of healing by the one Spirit; To another the working of miracles, to another prophetic insight (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose); to another the ability to discern and distinguish between [the utterances of true] spirits [and false ones], to another various kinds of [unknown] tongues, to another the ability to interpret [such] tongues. All these [gifts, achievements, abilities] are inspired and brought to pass by one and the same [Holy] Spirit, Who apportions to each person individually [exactly] as He chooses.


HEALING

We Believe…in the Healing power of Jesus in the everyday lives of Saints.

Isaiah 53:5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.”


HEAVEN AND HELL (LAKE OF FIRE)

We Believe…that Heaven and Hell are real, and everyone will reside in one of these places according to the judgment of God in that day. Heaven will be reserved for Christians and hell will be reserved for those that have rejected the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 9:27 “And just as it is appointed for [all] men once to die, and after that the [certain] judgment,”
