Dirty Dog Leather

I began making leather goods as a way to pay for college expenses while at the University of Pennsylvania in the late 60's. I was going to craft shows and festivals, and really enjoyed combining my creativity and entrepreneurial spirit with the business acumen I was developing in school. I had plans to open a leather tooling shop in Philadelphia following college, however I made the decision to come home to Birmingham, AL to help maintain the family business. For over 40 years I have served as the owner and CEO of Damsky Paper Company, and my passion turned into more of a hobby.

Recently I have found my way back to my workbench as my schedule became more flexible. I began making purses and belts as gifts for friends and family and received overwhelmingly positive response, encouraging me to do more! So I finally decided to take the leap back into bigger inventory, and Dirty Dog Leather was born! Why Dirty Dog? Well, that was my nickname in college. I'll leave it there for another day!
