Divine Grace Lutheran Church and School - WELS

As Christian believers and members of Divine Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), we profess and teach that the following is true:

The Bible is the inspired Word of God ,and our ONLY source of teaching.

God has created man and has determined how we should live.

We have failed to live up to the things that God requires of us by our sinning in thought, word and deed.

Because of our sins we deserve to die eternally.

God is merciful and gracious and desires that no one should perish.

God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to live a holy life and die an innocent death, suffering the torments of hell for us as our Substitute.

When Jesus died on the cross He paid the full price for the sins of the world.

God has justified, that is, has declared all sinners not guilty, free from blame for the sake of Jesus.

God makes the wonderful gift of forgiveness of sins our own through faith.

Faith itself is a gift of God which becomes ours by the workings of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit works through the Word of God and the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lords Supper.

A Christian life of good works does not contribute toward salvation, but is an expression of love and gratitude on the part of the believer to his Savior.

Christians should meet together regularly for worship, to strengthen each other, and proclaim the gospel.

When our earthly life is ended, an eternal life awaits us with our Father in heaven.
