Dr. Mehta is a board certified physician with specialty training in physical medicine and rehabilitation, sports medicine and pain management. He is Medical Director of DOC Sports and Director of DOC clinical research. He attended The University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital - the University hospitals for Cornell and Columbia University in New York City. He subsequently completed a Sports Medicine and Interventional Pain fellowship at The Hospital for Special Surgery, ranked #1 in Orthopaedics Nationwide.
Dr. Mehta specializes in the non-operative treatment of sports related injuries as well as chronic pain conditions. He has specialized training in Interventional Pain Medicine and employs novel techniques including nerve blocks for chronic pain conditions, ultrasound guided musculoskeletal injections and regenerative medicine techniques including Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). Dr. Mehta is one of the team physicians for the Dayton Dutch Lions soccer team.
