Dover is a town in Craven County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 401 at the 2010 Census. It is part of the New Bern, North Carolina Micropolitan Statistical Area.GeographyDover is located at .According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.9sqmi, all of it land.DemographicsAs of the census of 2000, there were 443 people, 185 households, and 135 families residing in the town. The population density was 466.3 people per square mile (180.0/km²). There were 214 housing units at an average density of 225.3 per square mile (87.0/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 45.82% White, 53.95% African American and 0.23% Native American.There were 185 households out of which 23.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.4% were married couples living together, 17.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.5% were non-families. 22.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 2.82.In the town, the population was spread out with 22.1% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 26.6% from 25 to 44, 27.1% from 45 to 64, and 18.3% who were 65 years of age or older.
