Down Wind GSP Kennel was founded by Suad Kraja. I have founded Down Wind GSP Kennel on my superior knowledge, experience and long history of love for the German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP). My proffesional expierence with the breed is over 20 years. The way I was introduced into the greatness of bird dogs was my father. My father owned English Pointers at the time, I came across a German Shorthaired Pointer puppy and ever since then have fell in love with the breed. The number of years that run in my family tree of bird dog owners is close to impossible to pin. From the days as a young boy, when my father introduced me to the great sport of hunting, I was automatically consumed by the love of gun dogs intelligence, boldness, loyalty and strategic way of working a field. From my first point of contact with the “bird dog” the imagination of a GSP working a field strip, high switch grass, woodlands and even waterfowl hunting has brought me to where I am.
The German Shorthaired Pointers that we own are very important to our family. They are given as much personal attention, also love and affection. It is such an extraordinary feeling to have such well bred and trained GSP’s. Hunting with our German Shorthaired pointers is our priorty and we find a great amount of passion in doing so. They are “our” breed of choice.
We breed to improve on the characteristics that make this breed one. The characteristics are excellent temperament, confirmation, intelligence, trainability and natural hunting ability. We carefully plan out and put thought into our breeding. We strive to breed for the excellence of the hunting dog, being a couch potato with family, kids, non-aggressive and at the same time being an amazing gun dog in the field. We would never produce a litter that we would not keep a puppy for ourselves of our choice. We strongly recommend any future clients of ours to contact us with any questions from the day after a puppy was bought or even 10 years from that day. We are here to help in anyway possible. We aim to only sell our puppies to hunting families and families that want to experience the excellence of the German Shorthaired Pointer.
