The Dr. James E. Moore, Jr. Camp Robinson Firing Range is a public firing range operated by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. The range is located approximately 5 miles east of Mayflower, AR just off of Hwy 89 S. Services offered at the range include skeet, trap, 50 yd. pistol range, 200 yd. rifle range and a 3D archery course. Fees are $3 per person for pistol, $3 per person for rifle, skeet and trap are $4 per round of 25, archery is free. Archery shooters must register in the range house prior to shooting. Spotting scopes are available for rent for $2 and extra targets are $.25 each. Soft ear plugs are $.50 each. The range does provide ear muffs and eye protection at no additional cost. Each paying customer receives 2 targets for either pistol or rifle. The range is operated on a first come, first serve basis. Weekends and weeks leading up to hunting season are extremely busy and customers may have to wait for an available shooting position. The heated/cooled range house has seating for waiting customers and TV's for their enjoyment while waiting for a shooting position or taking a break from shooting. The range house is also equipped with ADA compliant doors and restrooms. Sidewalks on the ranges are ADA compliant. All range staff are certified through the NRA as Range Safety Officers (RSO). Many of the range staff are retired law enforcement officers with many years of experience in firearms training and teaching and are certified armorers on many makes of firearms. Two staff members were military and LE snipers/marksman and have a vast knowledge on marksmanship and rifle shooting techniques. All staff members are available to help customers zero rifles. Staff members will also help novice shooters learn to shoot as time and manpower allow. Customers should not bring loaded firearms to the range. Bringing loaded firearms onto range property will result in loss of shooting privileges for the day. Customers guns will be checked by RSO's before they are allowed to sign in. Shooters use of the range is at the discretion of range employees. Violation of range rules may result in loss of range privileges for the day and guests may be held liable for damage to AGFC property. Rules sheets are provided to customers at the register counter.
