This is a Stand alone HD Media box ( One Per TV ) that comes with an HDMI Cable , Remote Control & it has 4 usb ports , 1 SD Card port , HDMI Out and power port the unit has a DVR feature that you don't need but its there. It does not work with Tivo or your normal cable all you need is an HDTV and Internet Connection. You do not need to have cable for this to work. If local programing is something you can not live with out keep a basic cable package until you are comfortable with what the box offers.
