Dream Theatre was formed to provide adult individuals with special needs a unique and meaningful dramatic arts program to educate them in the arts and to provide a venue in which they can take part in dramatic productions. We offer a dynamic and constantly evolving, person-centered program in which a person's abilities are more important than their disabilities.
Although we incorporate other facets of the arts into our program, our focus is primarily on acting, singing and dancing. Our shows are cast entirely of the students involved in the program. Our theatrical and vocal groups participate in voluntary outreach programs, performing throughout the community to promote awareness and acceptance.
It is our philosophy that our students should be provided with a choice of learning experiences that engage their minds, hearts, and bodies. The arts help them to learn; they enhance creativity, self-discipline, teamwork, self-esteem, and the skills and confidence necessary to meet challenges encountered during their lives. Our program offers a nurturing environment allowing individuals to develop specific skills in the art form of their choosing.
