Dream Weavers of Matthews Basket Guild

Dream Weavers of Matthews meets the first Tuesday evening of every month from 6-9 pm at the McDowell Arts Center, 123 McDowell Street, Matthews, NC. Our guild is affiliated with the NC Basketmaker's Assocation.


About Our Members:
Our members come from the greater Charlotte area including Matthews, Charlotte, Monroe, Concord, Gastonia, Huntersville, Indian Trail, Fort Mill, Midland, Weddington, and Waxhaw. We are a fun loving group and we enjoy sharing new ideas and techniques.

How to Join Our Guild:
If you are interested in joining our guild, we encourage you to join us for up to 2 meetings before joining to see if you enjoy our craft. The cost to join is $20 per year which includes all meetings and patterns (materials are extra), monthly minutes, and communications emailed to you. A prospective guild member should have his or her own tools and the knowledge of basic basket weaving skills prior to joining. If you would like to learn these skills, let us know and we will connect you with a teacher.

Our Community Service Projects:
Our guild is committed to serving the community of Matthews. All funds raised by the guild benefit the Matthews Free Medical Clinic. We have a basket display each year at Matthews Alive, we make and fill "Baskets of Love" to be distributed to the less fortunate at Christmastime, and we make Medicine Totes and Hope Baskets to be distributed to patients at the clinic.
