Visitors can experience farm life as it was a century ago. This 325 acre Florida State Park focuses on farming, agriculture and the way of life from the 1880’s through the 1940’s. Dudley Farm Historic State Park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was donated to the state in 1983 by Myrtle Dudley and was originally purchased in 1859 by her grandfather Phillip Benjamin Dudley Sr. What you will find today are 18 structures that have been preserved and restored (all built between 1880 and 1940), crop fields and livestock.
When arriving at Dudley Farm Historic State Park you will first see the Visitor Center. In the Visitor Center, an informative 12 minute video about Dudley Farm can be viewed. This is also where brochures and interpretive displays can be found. Next to the Visitor Center is the Commissary. The Commissary is opened from 10 am – 3:30 pm on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Handmade items, such as quilts, knitted and crocheted items, jellies and wooden toys can be purchased in the Commissary. The Pause and Ponder Trail is a beautiful ¼ mile loop hiking trail that is located on the North East end of the parking lot. Behind the Visitor Center is the trail that takes you to the historic farmstead, where you will find the farm house, 17 other historic structures,cracker cattle, a cracker horse, a mule, turkeys, chickens and crop fields.
