Duette Education Foundation, Inc.

The mission of Duette Elementary today, as yesterday, is instilling in children a love of learning and the same family values that guided its former students to success in academics and in life. To fulfill that mission, the Duette Education Foundation, Inc. (DEFI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, was formed in December 2009. Through a contract with the Manatee County School Board, renewable each year, DEFI operates Duette Elementary School. As a testament to the commitment of Duette School staff, Principal/Administrator Donna King generously has donated two full years of her time to the school to keep her dream for the future of the school alive. Without Ms. King’s selfless action, the doors of Duette School would have closed, and an 80-year tradition of exceptional education would have sadly ended.
