Early Edge California

Early Edge advances quality early education so children can be happy, healthy, engaged learners by their first day of school and every day after. Since 2003, we’ve successfully advocated for groundbreaking early childhood policies, from creating transitional kindergarten to securing the funding necessary to improve early learning programs. We now see an enormous opportunity to move the needle on quality by supporting parents, teachers, and caregivers through policy that is informed by research and on-the-ground practice. That’s why beginning in October 2016, Early Edge is partnering with The Early Learning Lab to develop a new policy agenda and organizational structure that will allow us to ensure quality teaching is a reality for all of California’s youngest children.

Early Edge is continuing to engage policymakers and champion critical early childhood opportunities in California by raising awareness about quality and focusing on policies that strengthen and support teachers and caregivers. We are also remaining a resource to transitional kindergarten teachers and administrators through our annual TK Conference and TKCalifornia.org. Come back for more updates on our work!
