Earth Water Farmstead

We are homesteading on an acre of land in the Southern Appalachian Mountains Weaverville, North Carolina.

We keep busy with many farm projects at our homestead, which we call Earth Water Farmstead. Really busy. Josh and Laura bring a combined background of over fifteen years working on organic farms (not to mention management of a commercial paint company, a license in elementary education, yoga obsession, and world travels). We are working hard to grow, preserve, and eat as much of our own food as possible. We are also gradually establishing medicinal plant gardens and a small farmstead apothecary. We raise pastured poultry and rabbits for meat and laying hens for eggs; brew all sorts of interesting and tasty beers; forage for medicinal and edible foods in the wild; ferment, bake, cook, smoke, braise, prepare… lots of delicious foods; hunt for wild meat; chase after a sweet puppy all day; make cool crafts (mostly dreamcatchers these days) and build things; and are frequently found out and about at one of the awesome breweries or music venues in the Western NC area. We like to learn, experiment, and try new things.
