East Durham Children's Initiative

The mission of East Durham Children’s Initiative (EDCI) is to improve outcomes for a 120-block neighborhood in Durham by creating a pipeline of high-quality, evidence-based services for children and families that spans from birth to college or career.

Modeled after the Harlem Children's Zone, our vision is to prepare every child in the EDCI zone for college or a career by the time they graduate from high school. EDCI impacts the lives of hundreds of children that reside in low-income households within the area.
