We are proclaimed around our region, which includes metropolitan Detroit and Lower Canada, as “The Light that shines from the East in Detroit”. East Lake is not a “Sunday morning wonder”, but a 7-day ministry that is dedicated to meeting needs and answering questions. Whether creative age-specific bible classes or highly charged and super competitive basketball games: East Lake is an exciting place to be. Worship is expressive and creative in the Spirit, where you’re likely to be wowed by Praise Dancers, mesmerized by our Mime Ministry, or peppered with laughter by our unique Puppet Ministry. God and golf; Holiness and affordable and market rate housing developments; sanctification and schools; Sister-to-Sister Women’s Ministry coupled by the Kingdom Boy’z to Men Ministry; New Generation 2 Be Youth Ministry; Seniors-on-the-Move; Promiseland Early Learning Center; Kingdom Kidz Summer Day camp; the Kingdom Men’s Cafe and gift shop and Beacon Book Store represent merely a preview of a diverse and exciting ministry that is East Lake.

East Lake is a family church, where people are valued above all else. Your entire family can be engaged by our ministry: we are proudly intergenerational and unapologetically Christian. We have crafted a ministry model that is designed to meet the needs of every age group and generational experience; from the survivor generations, baby boomers, generation X’ers and Y’ers, the hip-hop and face-book generations etc, we feel a calling to serve in the city, where issues with neighborhoods and families abound. We have heard the Christ of the Church speaking in our day with a redemptive and transformative word for people living in the city on the edge of darkness and despair. At East Lake we see ourselves as wounded healers who want to be change agents to the glory of God. We have had a glorious encounter with a loving God, which resulted in a personal experience of grace that is our’s to share with all who will hear and believe. At East Lake Church you will find people passionate about faith, family, a future that is anchored by the timeless and true promises of God.
