As a theatre production company, we’ve started from scratch: first teaching in the public school system, directing small summer camps, then writing our own musicals which we toured in school gyms. Throughout the years we’ve expanded our audience base to perform for over 5,000 audience members, offered full scholarships to leading musical theatre programs, and have been selected to perform at the largest theatre conference in the country. As our group of students and audience members expands, it’s time for us to grow too.
Jitterbug Theatre Productions is changing shape. I am pleased to announce that I am now Executive Director of the newly-formed Eastern Shore Repertory Theatre, a premier theatre company offering even more opportunities for our community. We will continue to offer “Jitterbug-type” musicals and summer camps, as well as, add to our repertoire of material. Future plans include offering more dance and acting classes, a concert series, touring theatre programs into the schools, and so much more!
Eastern Shore Rep will serve as a non-profit, 501c3, which will allow us to receive grant money and tax-deductible donations. Additional funding will help us expand to our ultimate goal of a permanent performing arts center. Our long-term goals are to have a state-of-the-art theatre, an in-house recording studio for new projects, a year-round schedule of children’s performances and classes, and concerts and classes by regional and national acts.
We’d be thrilled if you’d join us in our efforts. Stay tuned for an exciting benefit on April 20th where you can learn more about our new ventures. We’ll be posting more information as the date nears and we’d love to have your support as we create a cutting edge performance program for the community.
Sincerely,
Erin Langley
