Eastfield College Dance

The Eastfield College Dance Department under the direction of Professor Danielle Georgiou serves as a vital dance training center for east Dallas County. The EFC dance program features an experienced faculty dedicated to providing students the skills and training necessary to pursue a career in dance. We strive to present professional-quality classes and productions, giving students a firm foundation in dance, dance performance, choreography, and production design. The faculty includes Lead Faculty Member Danielle Georgiou, adjunct faculty members, Kiera Amison, Gypsy Crane Ingram, and Melissa Sanderson. Alumni of the program have gone on to be accepted into dance programs at the University of Oklahoma, University of North Texas, Texas Woman’s University, Sam Houston State University, University of Texas at Dallas, and the University of Texas at Arlington. Alumni have also gone on to training programs with notable national companies and to dance professionally. The Eastfield College Dance Company performs regularly on-campus, and collaborates with the Eastfield College Theatre and Visual Art Departments.

The curriculum offers a diverse selection of dance classes including: ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, body conditioning, choreography, and performance.

The Eastfield College Dance Company consists of students who share a love for dancing and performing. The dancers balance their passion for the performing arts with their value for education, creating a hardworking, committed company. The Eastfield Dance Company is also committed to bringing in outside guest artists to participate in short-term residency projects with the dancers, such as Whitney Boomer (Big Rig Dance Collective), Antonio Arrebola and Delilah Buitron (Dallas Flamenco Festival), Emilie Skinner (Dallas Neo-Classical Ballet), Kiera Amison (Muscle Memory Dance Theatre), Melissa Sanderson, Meredith Knight, Sarah Matzke, and Christie Nelson. This year, we have had the pleasure of welcoming Claire Augustine to our campus. Joining us this spring is guest Elisa De La Rosa of Houston.
