More about Eastside Food Festival

EASTSIDE FOOD FESTIVAL

EastSide Food Festival is an annual food festival celebrating the local communities of Los Angeles's East Side.

Thank you to everyone who came out this year and helped to make the 3rd annual EastSide Food
Festival such a huge success!! Special thanks to our Gold Level Sponsor BRE Investment, Silver Level Sponsor Big Green Egg and our amazing venue and partner Mack Sennett Studios for helping to make it all happen!

On October 2nd, EastSide Food Festival 2016 brought a diverse crowd of over a thousand of LA's Eastside tastemakers and food enthusiasts gathered to enjoy drinks and bites from the Eastside of LA's top restaurants which included: Angel City Brewery, Better Booch, Boxed Water, Buttonmash, Challa Hub, Clover Juice, Frankie Lucy Bake Shop, El Condor, El Conchito, Go Get Em Tiger, Homestate, Jeni's Ice Cream, Kettle Black, Kitchen Mouse, Knuckle & Claw, Little Beast, Lord Jones, Momed, Ohana Poke Co, Our/ Los Angeles Vodka, Pok Pok,The Jolly Oyster, El Cochinito, Same Same Thai, Sawyer, Silverlake Wine Shop, Starry Kitchen, Sticky Rice, Trois Familia, Todo Verde, Wood Pizza, and Ventura Spirits.

Our Gold Level Sponsor BRE Investment, the Eastside's go-to real estate and investment company transformed the Mack Sennett Studios wood shop into a beautiful lounge for guests to sit and relax while they ate and drank.

For the first year, The Big Green Egg® hosted a stage of grilling demonstrations with Chef Ray Garcia of Broken Spanish and B.S. Taqueria who grilled B.S. Taqueria's famous Cauliflower al Pastor, as well as Chef Steve Samson of Sotto and Rossoblu, who showed the crowd some grilling tips and tricks as he made his delicious Leg of Lamb, Mint Salsa Verde, Squash in Agrodolce and Long-cooked Cauliflower.

The festival also included interesting discussion panels and live podcasts. Meryl Pritchard of Kore Kitchen discussed how to live a zero waste lifestyle and taught the audience ways to reduce the amount of trash you produce; Lord Jones, purveyor oh high end Cannabis-Infused edibles and topical lotions, gave a lecture on Cannabis 101, and Snacky Tunes and The Super Amazing Restaurant Show both recorded their respective podcasts live. Snacky Tunes' host Darin Bresnitz interviewed Chef Jose Perez of Little Beast followed by a live performance from local buzz band Wilderado. The most talked about event of the evening was the recording of Super Amazing Restaurant Show. Alvin Cailan (Eggslut), and Nakul and Arjun Mahendro (Badmaash) discussed tipping and fair wages in the industry then Nguyen Tran of Starry Kitchen crashed the conversation - in his banana suit of course.

Guests were also treated to food themed nail art by Nailswag, as well as tunes by DJs Smiles Davis, Cooper Saver and Turbotito, who played back to back sets. Unlike any other food festival around, even when the food ran out at the end of the night, people stayed long after to dance it off.

As always, proceeds from the event go to PATH (People Assisting The Homeless).

Hope to see you again in Fall 2017!
