The Eat Clean Delivery Journey began in April of 2013. I returned home from a month in Florida and reflecting back, I didn’t really have any fun while I was there. I took a long hard look in the mirror, seeing all 335 lbs of me, it was obvious that something had to change. The next day, I joined the local gym in Asbury Park, the first gym membership I would ever actually use in my life. Unfamiliar with the weight machines and unable to set the treadmills to go downhill I was partial to the exercise bike. Looking for ways to make the time exercising fly by, even if it started only 15 minutes increments, I turned to Netflix to pass the time. I watched Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead, Forks over Knives, Fed Up and other documentaries educating myself on how food plays such an important part in our daily lives.

Fast forward to the spring of 2014, I was down to a lean 235lbs thanks to the help of professional strength & conditioning coaches. I ran the Avon 5k, and inspired a team of 25 to join me. I had become active, healthy and fit. I loved the way I felt from my transformation, and new found healthy lifestyle. I was full of energy and confident in my whole new body. I love to tell my story, to inspire others, I love hearing “If you can do it, I can do it.” And that’s when I knew I wanted to help others feel as good as I felt.

Later that year, fall of 2014, I was sitting around with my best friends in Belmar as they complained about the meal delivery service they were currently using. The foods always delivered too late in the morning, they never know what we are getting, they bill them for the whole month and getting credits was impossible, the constant emails to order food seemed to have no one on the other end etc… at that very moment Eat Clean Delivery was born. I started cooking meals for my friends out of my little apartment, first for two friends, then 4, and then a few more until I out grew my kitchen.

Over the next six months, we tested 1,000s of recipes, built a state of the art production facility, created an all-inclusive online ordering system, and designed Monmouth Counties first grab-and-go retail environment where there’s no need to pre-order we opened our storefront on April 8, 2015.
