Welcome to EcoFit!

Our goal here is to build a tribe of the healthiest and most fit people around. In order to achieve this while making it fun and motivating, we offer personal training (both in person and online), health & wellness coaching, and even teach you to shop for, cook, and eat nutritious foods. This not only gives you the benefit of working with a trainer but also the option of doing so without spending a fortune!

With EcoFit you work with a Certified personal trainer, a strength and conditioning specialist, and a sports nutritionist. I also hold a B.S. in exercise science. My experience through personal weight loss and athletics, and having trained dozens of people from all walks of life; from youth with physical disabilities to professional athletes have prepared me to help YOU reach your health and fitness goals!

After years of focusing on the bodybuilding aspect of fitness, I went through a pretty rough few years with my health. After feeling so weak and out of shape and a whole lot of weight gain, I found myself feeling that I was in no place to help others with their health until I could fix my own. I began reading as many books on health and longevity as I could as well as listening to talks and interviews with doctors and other experts in the areas of nutrition and longevity. Eventually that led to a major overhaul of my diet and lifestyle. Through a plant-based approach to eating and a very slow rebuilding of my fitness (think months of just walking) I was able to lose 100 pounds and feel better than ever! The best part is that this experience has made it easier for me to understand what you're going through as you try to improve your health and fitness.

Method:

We believe that fitness should be functional and we should train as though life is our sport. So let's discuss life...or at least the fitness and nutrition parts of it!

Nutrition is simple (even if it isn't always easy):
Eat real food. Mostly plants. Not too much.

Fitness is defined as a measure of ten physical abilities/markers:

accuracy

In order to promote true fitness we strive to train individuals in ALL of these areas. Leaving out any one component means a lower level of fitness. Remember, any chain is only as strong as it’s weakest link!

True fitness should prepare you to handle any physical challenge that you are faced with. This means functional, real world training rather than a defined number of repetitions or sets done over and over…an ever-changing format including high intensity tasks performed with little rest at varying intervals and rep ranges.

We are not here to do bicep curls in front of the mirror and compare the size of our muscles. We are here to continually improve our level of fitness, strive for new PR’s (personal records) with each workout, work as a team, help and motivate each other, and build a community of the most fit and healthy individuals on the planet!


Learn and regularly train

Major core exercises: Clean and Jerk, snatch, squat, deadlift, presses and rows

Basic gymnastics skills: push-ups, pull-ups, dips, handstands, rope climbs, flips and holds

Sprints of various distances and types: hill sprints, tire flips, sled dragging/pushing, rowing, tabata/interval training
