EDWINS seeks to serve young adults primarily aged 18-28 years old. The objective is reach out to those from vulnerable neighborhoods of Cleveland’s inner city. EDWINS restaurant functions as a school staffed by its school under the guidance of culinary instructors.
Teaching methods utilized at the restaurant include coaching, mentoring, and goal setting. These methods are conducive for students to achieve their individual goals. Students are taught how to cook and operate many facets of the dining room. They are also educated by basic business principles such as cash flow, management, and entrepreneurship.
At EDWINS, the belief is Education Wins. By teaching students business fundamentals they have the potential of owning or operating business in their local community. As a non-profit, EDWINS provides these invaluable skills at no cost to the student. Proficiency in restaurant operations will equip students to be prepared for job placement after they complete the program.
