El Chorro Dog Park

El Chorro Dog Park was created by and is maintained by SLO-4-PUPs, a Project Committee of SLOPOST (San Luis Obispo Open Space and Trails), and a charitable non-profit organization 501(c) 3 that encourages volunteers to create and maintain parks, open space and trails in San Luis Obispo County. SLO-4-PUPs volunteers are completely responsible for building, repairing and the daily upkeep of El Chorro Dog Park, the first fenced off-leash dog park in San Luis Obispo County.
• 2 fully fenced areas with wood chips, water stations, mutt mitts, doggie splash tubs, plus benches, picnic tables with lots of shade for the humans to enjoy. A Handicapped accessible restroom is next to the park.
• Large park is 1 1/3 acre, Small park is ¼ acre
• El Chorro Dog Park is open 7 days a week, from 7:30 a.m. to sunset.
From April 1 to September 30 there is a $3 entry fee on weekends and holidays to El Chorro Regional Park. Annual permits can be purchased for $30. There is never a separate fee for the Dog Park.
The Dog Park may be closed if a large Event is taking place in El Chorro Regional Park. The Renaissance Festival, The Beer Festival and Earth Day are some that have occurred in the past. Like our page to be notified in advance.
El Chorro Dog Park is located within El Chorro Regional Park on Highway 1 across from Cuesta College. It is between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. Once you enter the park, drive past the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden, the Dog Park parking is about 500 ft on your left.
