Boxing & Fitness Program:

Our athletic facility, named El Maestro Boxing Gym is home to professionals, amateurs and youngsters looking to get a good workout or just to get in shape in a safe environment.
El Maestro Boxing Gym contains a regulation size boxing ring and runs a health project encouraging young people to combine a healthy mind with a healthy body.

Cultural & Artistic Development Program (CADP):

El Maestro: Cultural & Educational Center provides members with resources and facilities to develop cultural and artistic skill and abilities. The Program includes a variety of on-going artistic workshops and activities:
• Puerto Rican Roots Music performances (monthly)
• Afro-Puerto Rican Dance & Percussion Classes (weekly)
• Resident Musical Ensembles (weekly rehearsals)
• Educational Video Presentations (monthly)
• Art Exhibitions (monthly)
• Spoken Word/Poetry Open Mic & Showcase (monthly)

El Maestro Youth Empowerment Program (EMYEP):

El Maestro encourages youth leadership through our Youth Projected Maestro’s goal is to promote the healthy development of young people in sports and in general, and also to promote an enhance the resilience of youth and their families and that assesses and addresses risk factors advisement, parent and school consultation, family assistance, advocacy, recreation programs, resource development, and education.

Little League Baseball:

El Maestro sponsors and facilitates the administration of Juan "Igor" Gonzalez Baseball League for boys and girls for 4- 15 years old.
This League was founded in 1999 by Prof. Ponce Laspina with 16 teams.
The divisions are: Tee-Ball, Pee-Wee, Little League and Senior.
They have achieved many goals in NYC.

Softball League:

El Maestro sponsors and facilitates the administration of Roberto Clemente Softball League also founded by Prof. Ponce Laspina in 1983 for youth 16 years old and up.
There are 12 teams in the league.
They have being part of many community events since their foundation.

Citywide: El Maestro’s programs reach segments of the New York social life.
Our facilities, training staff and social programs attract people of all ages from every corner of the city and beyond.

Athletic Accomplishments:

El Maestro Boxing Gym has produced many champions in the Golden Gloves, Junior Olympics, Metro Championships, Iran “The Blade” Barkley Championship Tournaments, many other Championship Tournaments and three (3) champions in the 1st Boricua Games sponsored by The Government of Puerto Rico through The Secretary of Sports and the National Puerto Rican Day Parade in June 2008.
