More about Elchenburg Castle

Once upon a time, Baron Rufus, together with many notables such as Duke Logan, Baroness Rozsa, Sir Dagonet, Sir Christian, Master Achbar, Baron Phillip, Baroness Gisela, Squire Blackbow and others, discussed the Known World’s woeful scarcity of land set aside for teaching, learning and practicing martial arts, arts and sciences and various other enjoyable activities, and decided upon bold action. To this end Baron Rufus claimed outlander wilderness as his own, about 25 hectares in total. To these lands he then wrought many changes, and with help erected a castle. Lord Geffrei declared the place “Elchenburg Castle,” as it has been referred ever since, a place dedicated to the education and practice of things some foolishly consider to be lost to the ages.
Over the years Elchenburg Castle has played happy host to many wondrous events. Public recognitions and declarations of outstanding achievements and elevations, celebrations, weddings, fantastic battles, supreme archery, dazzling thrown weapons, thunderous horses, mind-boggling works of science and awe-inspiring works of art all occur in this joyous giant patch of land with some regularity.
But Baron Rufus saw further opportunity. Always concerned with Elchenburg Castle, whether waging far-flung wars or equipping local recruits, Baron Rufus waited for the ones who would share his burden. And he found Squire Dubhghall and Lady Suzy, practically on his doorstep, living on a quiet little farm just down the road. It began innocently enough, with a little chat here and a quick debate there, the way cautious neighbors dance. It grew into something quite different. Squire Dubhghall burned a barn, Mistress Meadhbh planted an herb garden, Sir Afshin and Mistress Meadhbh led the building of the Flintstones Camp, Lord Raphael and Lady Pam led the creation of Soulreaverville, and just recently, new waters have been discovered. Keeping outlander wilderness in the Known World serves as Squire Dubhghall’s motivation for holding the stewardship reins of Elchenburg Castle.
