To Register: There is no fee for town residents. Proof of residency is required. Non- residency fee is $25.00/year.
Borrowing: Books and books-on-CD may be borrowed for 3 weeks at a time and DVDs for 1 week. Periodicals are also available. We do not assess late fines, but contributions to our Conscience Box are always welcome!
Service Charges: Copier and computer prints- .10/copy; fax machine- $1/page.
Computers: Elkins Library has 5 computer terminals available to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis. You must sign up to use this service. Computers may be used for a half hour at a time, however, if no one else is waiting the time may be extended. The library has a wireless internet connection (Wi-Fi) and patrons are welcome to bring their own computers.
Book Discussion Group: The book group meets the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm by the fireplace, from September to June.
Story and Craft Hour: For pre-K and younger, the second Wednesday of the month at 10 am from September to June.
Knitting Group: Wednesdays at 6:30 pm by the fireplace, September through the 2nd week of May. All experience levels welcome, as well as crochet, embroidery, and other hand projects.
Quilters: First and third Monday of the month at 6:30 pm.
Scrabble: Monday evenings at 6:00 pm.
Humanities-To-Go: Spring and Fall programs in conjunction with the Canterbury Historical Society.
Holiday Open House: First Saturday in September from 10-12 pm.
