In 1998, the Junior Program at Elkridge began with a mission statement of; "To maintain a safe environment for youth to gather within the community, to learn about the many aspects of the fire service, and to provide avenues for positive social interaction for youth within the program, and for youth within the community". The membership started with five members then grew to 20. At this time we are at 50 members. The Juniors have received a great amount of praise for all of their hard work and dedication to the program, their community and to the Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department. The program allows the Juniors to learn about Fire and Rescue and above all, allows them to have safe fun. We must always remember this program will hopefully bring our next set of Volunteers into this community.
