Since 1984, EMC has been perfecting its role as a multi-disciplined surveying company offering turnkey solutions for both routine and complex surveying challenges. To assure our role as a quality surveying provider we have built a strong professional surveying team with the resources, knowledge, and equipment to deliver comprehensive surveys. Over the last 30 years, EMC has been growing from a progressive Southeast surveying firm to a national firm that has performed surveying services in over forty-five (45) states. EMC has performed thousands of land and hydrographic surveys for federal, state and local government entities, as well as various private and public companies from our headquarters located in Grenada, MS.

Multi-disciplined is the best adjective used when talking about EMC’s services. Our services encompass the traditional disciplines of topographic, boundary/cadastral, hydrographic, geophysical and geodetic surveys and we have also embraced the newer surveying disciplines of terrestrial LiDAR and mobile LiDAR surveys. Since our inception, we have provided continuous leadership in all aspects of our surveying services for the federal, state, local governments as well as private clientele. Our team has built many lasting client relationships throughout the Nation based on our consistent quality of these services.

Thirty plus years of federal, state and local government contracting knowledge and experience

EMC has gained tremendous knowledge and experience while working on numerous federal and state government contracts. Currently, EMC has two ongoing federal government contracts. These contracts include: 1 contracts with the USDA-NRCS (Mississippi) and 1 contracts with DOD-USACE (New Orleans Districts).

EMC’s understands that our best asset is our dedicated staff. Our staff has years of real world knowledge and experience in all aspects of the surveying and mapping. EMC combines the talents of professional land surveyors with certified hydrographers to provide our clients access to a complete range of surveying services. Currently, we have a staff of around forty (40) with an average of twelve (12) fully equipped surveying crews. Our team includes five (5) professional land surveyors that hold licenses in 14 States, which includes Louisiana, and an ACSM Certified Hydrographer. In addition, we have multiple Land Surveyor Interns currently employed.

EMC stays at the forefront of our industry’s technological advancements. The firm maintains the latest state-of-the-art surveying and mapping equipment. Our topographic and control equipment includes: 3D Terrestrial Scanning (Riegl VZ-400), 3D Mobile LiDAR (Riegl VMX-450), robotic total stations (Trimble S6), data collectors (Trimble TSE3-2) , Trimble GPS Systems (R10, R8 and R6 GNSS), Ground-penetrating radar (GPR)(Noggin) laser range finders and first order levels and theodolites. EMC’s hydrographic equipment includes: 8’ to 32’ survey boats, skiffs, air boats, and marsh buggies. All of EMC’s survey vessels have the ability to perform either dual or single frequency soundings, multi-beam (Reson 7101, 7125 & T20-P), side scan, or sub-bottom profile surveys. EMC maintains a sufficient number of workstations enabling us to process several jobs at one time. EMC utilizes a multitude of computer software applications enabling us to generate digital files in any client – specified format including Microstation Design (.dgn), AutoCAD (.dwg), Bentley Inroads (.dtm), (.alg), USACE, New Orleans District EM and 830 file formats, ASCII (.xyz), ArcView (.shp), and ArcInfo files. In addition, we always keep a supply of surveying supplies such as markers, rods, stakes, tape and paint both in each crew’s vehicles and at our warehouse.
