Emergency Response Training Center, Oswego NY

The Fire Coordinator’s office conducts training programs in the different techniques of fire suppression for volunteer firefighters, career firefighters, and industrial fire brigades. Fire Training programs and NYS Fire Training Courses are conducted at the Emergency Response Training Center (ERTC) and local fire stations. The office also coordinates mutual aid services and serves as liaison between county government and the Fire Advisory Board, County Chief’s Association, Firefighter’s Association, and the Fire Police Association. The Coordinator’s office has oversight of all special operations teams; HazMat Team, Underwater Rescue and Recovery Team, and the Rope Rescue Team. In addition, our Fire Investigation Team conducts investigations into the origin and cause of a fire when requested by a fire department or if the situation deems necessary. The Fire Related Youth program is also administered by our department. The Emergency Response Training Center (ERTC) offers training programs to cover all aspects of firefighting, fire safety, fire rescue, and other associated first responder skills and techniques.
