I'm sure all of us remember these things quite well. The mirror photos with the flash on, lip rings, writing lyrics all over our notebooks and shoes. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Random parts of our swooped and spiked hair being bleached white or dyed black or purple or pink. Eyeliner had (and still doesn't) no gender. Driving in your car with all of your other friends singing along to songs with the windows down. Meeting up at shows and talking about bands you wanted to see or were seeing. Thinking you were too punk for anyone to understand and certainly through being cool.
It was simpler, though complicated time in a lot of our lives. And if you want honesty, all I have to say is - the music wasn't half bad.
So come out to the Rock Show, have another drink (but please don't drive yourself home), and sing sing sing to your favorite songs of yesteryear.
